About this blog

(from Jared's Dad) Our seven-year-old son, Jared, (born 2003) loves food. We have known this since the first week of his life. At birth he was 7 pounds, 11 ounces.
Normal-sized baby so far.

By his 100th day, he could no longer fit in his infant car seat (limit 20 pounds), thus placing him in the coveted weight percentile of "off-the-charts."
Note: there are no rubber bands around my forearms.

Jared loves making and eating fine foods. Moving to Portland has only deepened his foodie sensibilities.

The title of this blog refers to Jared's first visit to Dodger stadium (2007) in the all-you-can-eat right field pavilion. After several innings of damage, Jared asked me the following:

Jared: "Dad, my stomach really really hurts. Could you please pass the nachos?"

And thus the inspiration for the blog title.

All posts will be written by Jared. I will transcribe entries without any editing until he learns how to type on his own. We will include some home recipes, local Portland restaurants and eateries, as well as the occasional Jared original recipe. We will try to plan for weekly updates.

Enjoy!
